I just heard that Pacific Moon closed from someone who was going to start working there. "Due to unforseen circumstances, Pacific Moon is closed indefinitely." How sad! Their website is down as well.
I guess I'll have to get my dim sum at King Wok.

Closing: Pacific Moon
I just heard that Pacific Moon closed from someone who was going to start working there. "Due to unforseen circumstances, Pacific Moon is closed indefinitely." How sad! Their website is down as well.
I guess I'll have to get my dim sum at King Wok.

Well that explains why it looked so dark as I was walking home from the Reds game last night. I thought maybe they'd changed their hours.

Dim sum at King Wok is pretty good. I think it's every Saturday and Sunday morning (or afternoon, not sure).

I live in Newport so I went down to eat dim sum on Sunday- there is a posting stating they are closed due to nonpayment of taxes. Kind of sad. I loved dim sum there. With that and Tropicana closing its getting kind of dim at the levee.

Pun intended I assume Kel? My SO liked Pacific Moon but I could never really get into dim sum. I think we are going to see a bunch of closings with food and fuel prices going up.

There are quite a few establishments closing or changing hours and offerings to accomodate. I havent changed much of my habits yet, however I do notice that there are quite a few more people at the store and Findley Market when I am there. As for the pun, didnt think of that until you said it. I will have to try King Wok.

I think Vudutu is right about seeing more closings. Our family's favorite steakhouse (El Coyotes) closed it's NKY branch with out much warning. Sad. With gas and grocery bills climbing, our food and entertainment budget is really the only place we have any wiggle room, so it is the first thing to shrink.

Sounds like I might be in the minority here but I didn't care for Pac Moon after they moved from Montgomery. We always felt the food was overrated and overpriced. They stopped doing dim sum for a long time and when they started up again, the quality was no where near as good as it was in Montgomery. I will occasionally go to Grand Oriental for Dim Sum but my family primarily goes to Uncle Yip's for Dim Sum now. I think their bao are slightly too sweet but everything else at Uncle Yip's is top notch. I definitely recommend it if you haven't tried it before.

I highly recommend Uncle Yip's! I haven't been back since they moved back to their original location (after moving to Fairfield). The quality didn't change with the move to Fairfield....nor the specials. Definitely try the ginger lobster special. You will full and satisfied.
