I will post reviews later, but for now, links!
I'm hoping I can drag Terry to Findlay Market early on Saturday morning so we can pick up some Ramps at Madison's. I really, really want to make Ramp Compound Butter. I have no idea what I will do with a huge log of ramp compound butter, but how can I resist?
And in case you're wondering, my next reviews are Habanero, Via Vite and a full review of The Quarter Bistro's menu (not just sandwiches). This weekend, I'll do a special dinner theater review and Chalk (finally), with special blog guest, My Mom!

I was also wowed by the microwave popcorn piece - I'd read about it in I'm Just Here for the Food, but forgot about it. Just when I was getting really disgusted with how much microwave popcorn costs, too!

We have done brown bag popcorn since Alton (sigh) did it on a Good Eats episode. The kiddies love it.
Your mom is going to blog?! That is awesome. - May 6, 2008 at 10:47 PM

See you at Findlay, missed last Sat, had to go Sunday and it was packed! I could not get in the lot. I love market this time of year. Saw the ramps at Madisons two weeks ago, did not look real good and seemed over priced, $10 lb, so I passed. FYI, if How early is early? I'll pickup almond croissants at Greenup.

My mom sent me a recipe for pinenut butter you put on grilled corn, but seriously, what am I going to do with it after I use a little for the corn? I would rather have it in a restaurant...
Can't wait for the upcoming reviews! I went to Via Vite Saturday night for a 2 hour romantic dinner with my hubby. After a bottle of wine, the 22 miles of the marathon I did the next day was a little rough. - May 7, 2008 at 9:46 AM

kelly-- I remember reading it in Alton's book too, but totally forgot about it.
Mikki-- My mom is going to Chalk with me, so I figured I'd let her give her two cents. She has no idea what a blog is, really, but she's impressed that i have one.
vudutu-- no idea what time early is! Terry has opening night the night before, so "early" could be "11 AM". :) Eat a croissant for me. Sad to hear that the ramps looked bad. If they look nice, I might get some anyway, price be damned. - May 7, 2008 at 10:54 AM

Julie, well they did not look $10 a lb, let me put it that way. FYI you can always call Bryan @ 513-723-0590 and have him set some aside. We are usually at market between 9 and 12.

Julie, got to Findlay early for us, great week, I love it this time of year. I hope you got your ramps, they looked real good but were up to $12 a lb. Our catch was soft shell crabs, fried in lemon caper butter on Rudis Trader Joes wheat buns with lemon caper mayo, YUM!
